Biggin Hill Primary School

Sports Premium

The Government's PE and Sports Premium Grant is designed to raise the profile of sports and healthy lifestyles for pupils, creating a legacy in schools. Ofsted assesses and reports on how effectively this funding is being used to improve PE and Sport provision when making a judgement on the quality of the school's leadership and management.

Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding to improve the quality and breadth of Physical Education and Sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels of which they are capable.

Schools should prioritise PE and sport premium spending to improve in the following 5 key areas:

  • increasing all staff’s confidence, knowledge and skills in teaching PE and sport
  • increasing engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity and sport
  • raising the profile of PE and sport across the school, to support whole school improvement
  • offer a broader and more equal experience of a range of sports and physical activities to all pupils
  • increase participation in competitive sport

We are required to publish a report each year, to show how we use the funding and what impact this has on our pupils' outcomes. Please click on the link below to view the latest report:
