School Meals
At Biggin Hill we provide freshly prepared food on site by our experienced catering company Harrison. Children are offered either a hot meal or a sandwich, with a choice of dessert on a daily basis.
We run a three week rotational menu which offers a wide variety and choice. The catering company employs a nutritionist who oversees every element of the menus and food preparation to meet strict government standards.
For the academic year 2025/26 all primary school pupils in London will benefit from free school meals, therefore no payment is required.
The current menu is shown below. It is helpful to discuss the menu with your child so they know what meals are available. We operate a pre-ordering system whereby the children choose what they want for lunch at morning registration.
Packed Lunch
Children may bring a packed lunch from home. Lunch boxes should be clearly labelled.
Please note we are a nut free school, this includes nutella chocolate spread.
Sweets and fizzy drinks are not allowed in school.
All children may bring a named water bottle.
Packed Lunch Guidance:
We would encourage parents to include…
- A portion of starchy food, eg wholegrain bread or roll, pitta, pasta or rice salad?
- Plenty of fruit and vegetables, eg an apple, satsuma, tomatoes, fruit chunks, raisins?
- A portion of dairy food, e.g. cheese portion or yogurt?
- A portion of lean meat, fish, egg or alternative?
- A drink, e.g. water, semi skimmed milk or fruit juice?
Ideally packed lunches should not contain crisps, confectionery, chocolate or chocolate-coated products as they offer little nutritional benefit.

Breaktime Snack
At morning play a piece of fruit is offered to all Infant pupils complimentary via the fresh fruit for school kids government scheme. Junior pupils may bring in a piece of fruit or other healthy snack.
